My American Dream

My American Dream is to live the life promised by The Declaration of Independence and protected by the Constitution. These powerfully inspired documents create a foundation for a County whereby all People are created equal and are treated equal. Our ancestors declared America as a place where one cannot enslave another. The American People are protected from a Government that does not serve the people.

The People who have lived on this land for centuries were a free People. Prior to European’s crossing the ocean and landing on the shores of the American continent the People who lived here were free. Yes one Tribe warred on another and they did not always have peace, but they did not experience the massive wars elsewhere in the world.

The white man originally came here for freedom from tyranny and many lives were lost taking lands from the Natives in the name of freedom. Then, in the name of civilization, the North American continent was conquered. “Civilization” brought structure in the form of rules and laws that were intended to provide equality to all – yet to this day battles continue.

Like all of you I have struggled to find my niche. I have worked hard with some successes and some failures. My future is as unpredictable as yours. I am fearful as I see the future following the same path as in the past. I see a Country divided not by race or religion but by money.

My American dream is to live in peace with my neighbors and to contribute something positive to the society I am part of and to allow others to do the same. This is a simple goal but one that is not attainable in the present.

Today I do not have the ability to define MY AMERICAN DREAM, I am forced to live a life dictated by others. I do not have the rights protected by the Constitution because our elected officials have trampled them in favor of personal gain.

The American Dream has always been about hard work, not Government handouts. Just look at the current state of Native Americans who have been forced to live on reservations in servitude to our Government. Is this the reflection of our own lives for the next generation?

Today I cannot attain my own American Dream because I have to pay the way for everyone else. The Constitution does not guarantee that every is born equal or that they will die equal. The Constitution only guarantee’s that every American will have the same opportunity not the same result. God made each of us different and it is the power of our collective talents that create the drive and motivation to build upon our past with the intention for improvement.

Our passion and determination will create a free America. The focused efforts of all Americans will result in a Country that prospers in all aspects. We must have faith in our neighbors and support their efforts yet have the strength to demand their compliance to our society. We can self govern.

Give me back our right to define our own destiny. I may not want to work building roads and bridges. I may not want to work building wind turbines. I may not want to build computer systems for medical records. These Government programs are not in the best interest of America. When the Government forces us to pay taxes to support their programs, we have lost our voice. The Governments efforts today are only a continuation of the past.

The longer We the People allow this to continue, the less chance we have of defining our own American Dream and the better the chance we will all be cloned into the image of our Government.

My American Dream is simple:

I want to live with people of like minds. I want to work in any field I find stimulating. I want to have financial freedom. I want to support causes of my own selection. I want to worship the God of my choice. I want to learn and to teach subjects of my own interest.
